Only accessible by bus from the Gettysburg Museum and Visitors Center (where tickets should also be purchased), Eisenhower National Historic Site is the former home and farm of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie. While the real estate and restorations are pretty (tour the home to see each room after a guided introduction), they’re generally boring for kids. The site does, however, offer a Junior Secret Service Agent Program, available to children ages 7 to 12 and free of charge. Kids must answer questions (“Name five of the president’s hobbies,” for example) and complete tasks to earn a badge and certificate (they don’t need to complete all listed tasks to earn a badge), distributed at the Reception Center.
