Disney is not all theme park rides and cartoon characters; it also provides a quiet place to enjoy the Central Florida surroundings at its wilderness preserve. A 3-mile nature trail is available for families to enjoy, and off-road buggy adventures through the preserve’s 11,500-acres attracts teens. More than 1,000 animal and plant species from the Everglades ecosystem live in preserve, which also restored 3,500 acres of wetlands. The preserve is open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Closed on major holidays.)
