This former monastery features significant architecture and tells the history of the early settlers to Oaxaca, who may have tried to convert slaves or indigenous people to Catholicism. The structure was likely built by slaves as some of the remnants of murals show. There are huge stone archways leading to the church and convent and a large baptismal room that was likely used by the high society at the time. The inside of the former convent is also not to be missed.
