This gargantuan zoo, located in Powell, Ohio, is world famous for mixing learning, fun and conservation into one incredible package; perfect for families looking for something to do outside of Columbus.
Within the zoo’s massive 400 acres, visitors can explore several “regions,” some of which include North America, Polar Frontier, Asia Quest, African Forest and Voyage to Australia and the Islands. Astoundingly, the zoo has over 6,300 animals from nearly 800 species.
There are education programs for people of all ages, ranging from Little Explorers’ Base Camp for infants, to the zoo’s adult-oriented workshops on photography. There are also overnight programs for families, as well as Family Night Hikes.
There is also a variety of smaller rides, including the carousel, Bob Evans Express Train Ride, Stingray Bay, Polar Playground, pony rides and more.
