Founded in 1987 by Rob Mermin who spent more than 10 years performing as a clown in circuses such as Circus Hoffman in Great Britain and Circus Scott in Sweden, Circus Smirkus is Vermont’s very own international youth circus and the perfect family outing. The performers range in age from 10 to 18 and perform amazing stunts such as juggling and balancing on trapezes. They travel throughout New England during the summer months for their Big Top Tour, which is an ocean-inspired performance. Note: It can be very hot under the big top so be sure to bring plenty of water to hydrate. Tickets are available online.
