Riding lessons, pony rides, pony shows and day camps are available at the Chincoteague Island Pony Centre in the summer. Showcasing Chincoteague Ponies, which have made the Pony Swim, visitors will love to get up close to the animals. Kids will love to learn about the ponies and take riding lessons in the half-day or full-day day camps, or take a half-hour riding lesson with an instructor. For younger kids, a pony ride around the ring will also be fun. Bring the whole family out to the Chincoteague Pony Show, which takes place at 7 p.m. from July through mid-August. The show, held in the indoor ring, shows off all that the ponies can do.
