Children’s Museum of Manhattan

212 W. 83rd Street, New York, 10024, NY

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan is a fantastic resource for parents. With fun, entertaining and interactive exhibits geared toward teaching kids a little more about the world in which they live, a visit to the museum is sure to liven the evening’s dinner time discussion.

The exhibits are fascinating, to say the least. “10-Foot Cops: The NYPD’s Mounted Unit” provides a comprehensive and fascinating look at the history of the NYPD’s Mounted Police Force Unit. The “City Splash” exhibit, which is open during the warmer months, introduces kids to environmental protection and water preservation in unique, interesting and fun ways.

And definitely don’t forget to take your toddler on over to the “PlayWorks” exhibit, where learning and play is creatively combined to help prepare children for their entrance into school. They’ll participate in education Art Lab programs and develop skills in math, science, literature and problem-solving.

We suggest making a day out of the museum, since there’s an abundance of family-friendly restaurants in the area.
