The Chicago Botanic Garden is located in Glencoe, Illinois, about 30 minutes outside of Chicago. There are 26 gardens and four natural areas to explore, including a waterfall garden, railroad garden and fruit and vegetable garden. The Children’s Growing Garden is great for little ones who want to enjoy hands-on experiences. Kids can plant, water and harvest plants, flowers and vegetables. Year-round activities for families include story times, crafts, festivals and more.
Onsite dining is available at the Garden View Cafe, which offers salads, soups, sandwiches and specialty drinks. On-the-go options are also available. The cafe is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Chicago Botanic Garden is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. Admission is free, though parking is $25 per vehicle on weekdays, and $30 per vehicle on weekends and federal holidays.
