This museum is filled with artifacts of the Ancestral Pueblos who lived here and created the cliffside dwellings. Dioramas and a 25-minute orientation video are also here depicting their tale. If kids are participating in a junior ranger program, this museum is a must-visit, providing many of the answers they’ll seek in their hunt for park knowledge. Chapin Mesa is located about 20 miles from the park entrance.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily from January to March; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily from March to April; 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily from April to mid-October; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from mid-October to early November; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from early November to December. Admission is free.
