Aptly situated in Downtown Lancaster, Central Market has been an area staple since 1730. Today, it houses 64 local vendors, many of whom are Amish and/or own their own farms and sell homemade goods. Kids get a kick out of the Old-Fashioned Candy Stand and Wendy Jo’s Cookies, while many parents enjoy a wide selection of ethnic food stands, plus fresh fruits and vegetables (in the raw or delicious smoothies).
Central Market is open Tuesday and Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Arrive early if you’d like to beat the hustle-and-bustle of a visit later in the day.
