In Seaside Heights, New Jersey, you can’t pass up a visit to Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach, an iconic amusement park. The park sustained severe damage during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, but has rebounded to offer several new attractions, with plans for more enhancements — including a Ferris wheel and roller coaster — by 2016.
Casino Pier
At Casino Pier, families enjoy a mix of classic and modern rides, from a tilt-a-whirl and bumper cars to Skyscraper, a thrill ride that soars 170 feet into the air at speeds of 70 mph! Be sure to take a spin on the Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Historic Dentzel/Looff Carousel, too — it’s Casino Pier’s oldest and most famed attraction. Other popular attractions include The Casino Arcade and Seaside Speedway Go-Kart Track.
Breakwater Beach
When it’s time to cool off, head to Breakwater Beach, where there’s a Toddler Area and Family Play Section, plus a wave pool, lazy river and plenty of water slides! Cabanas are available for rent, as is a food and beverage location.
Admission
You can purchase tickets for individual rides at Casino Pier, or opt for a wristband. Tip: Get a wristband on Mondays and Wednesdays, 12 to 6 p.m., or Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 p.m. to midnight — it’s just $18. When Breakwater Beach is open, you can purchase admission to both the water park and Casino Pier — rates are $49.95 for those over 48 inches; $44.95 for those under 48 inches; and $31.95 for seniors (65 and up).
