Iowa’s State Capitol building was constructed in the late 1800’s and is the only five-domed capitol building in the country.
Free self-guided and guided tours can be taken Monday through Saturday. Guided tours are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week, and until 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays, while the building is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
