If a 2,500-acre garden can have a centerpiece, the Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl claims that designation at Callaway Gardens. Filled with more than 3,000 native and hybrid azaleas, this 40-acre garden comes alive in the spring when these plants burst forth into a landscape of pink, red, lavender and white. With 1.2 miles of walking paths throughout the garden, visitors can take their time enjoying all the beauty of these blooming plants. While the paths are stroller-friendly, there are some hills as you stroll the gardens. Admission to the Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl is free with general admission to the gardens. It’s open year-round.
