The largest railroad museum in the country, the California State Railroad Museum offers more than 225,000 square feet of exhibit space showcasing railroad cars, locomotives and history. The museum showcases 21 restored trains and cars, including a Pullman-style sleeping car, a dining car and a Post Office where visitors can climb aboard and explore. During the summer, the museum operates weekend train rides on the hour, every hour, and during the winter operates an official Polar Express train ride.
