It’s a toss-up between this and Caspersen Beach for the title of Venice’s most popular beach. Because Brohard claims the 700-foot-long pier with its well-loved Sharky’s on the Pier restaurant and free pier admission, it fills its huge parking lot with beachgoers’ cars.
Like all of Venice’s beaches, it’s known for its abundant shark teeth finds. Look on the beach or bring a snorkel and mask to scan the shallows. The pier rents out “Florida snow shovels” — mesh baskets that collectors use — as well as fishing rods. Wide sands, a gently sloping bottom, volleyball courts, and lots of picnic facilities make it family-friendly.
