The Book of Kells is an ancient, handwritten manuscript written in Latin of the Gospels from the Bible by monks around 800 AD. It is on display within the Old Library at Trinity College.
The Book of Kells is Ireland’s greatest treasure and the world’s most famous medieval manuscript. After walking through the Book of Kells exhibit and seeing the book itself, continue on into the Old Library and marvel at the hundreds of thousands of books and gorgeous wood bookshelves and room. The exhibit is self-guided, but audio guides are available.
