You could call The Star of Destiny, the film shown at the Museum’s Texas Spirit Theater, a 4D movie experience. Seats shake, you smell the smoke and you feel the wind as you learn about the monumental events that shaped the state, like drilling for oil in east Texas and watching the Saturn V take flight from Mission Control at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston. Also take time to enter a full-size teepee, glance at the Capitol’s original Goddess of Liberty statue and check out the circa 1940 “Texan” airplane in the atrium. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for students and $8 for children ages 4 to 17. Children age 3 and under are free.
