Blue Mountain Ski Area is consistently rated one of Pennsylvania’s best ski resorts. Home to Pennsylvania’s highest vertical, Blue Mountain features 37 trails for riders of all ages and abilities.
Of the 37 trails, a total of 41 percent are designated as beginner runs, which means the kids won’t have to worry about being run over or getting hurt. But your family’s Shaun White won’t be left twiddling his or her thumbs either, as a total of 46 percent of the trails are designated advanced and expert statuses.
And with a total of 11 lifts available (two of which are high speed) to take skiers and boarders where they need to be, there are rarely long lines, despite the resort’s obvious popularity in the peak season. Be warned, however, that it can get a bit crowded on the weekends — so show up early!
And for those not-so-coordinated snowbunnies, snow tubing is also available!
Guests are also invited to enjoy the resort’s slope side patio area and outdoor bar, and two lodges — one at the summit and one at the base. Food is served at each (though it can be a bit pricey), and complimentary Wi-Fi is available. There is also an onsite ski shop that offers free ski/board/equipment checks!
