A 15-minute drive from Cork City, families can easily spend a few hours exploring Blarney Castle & Gardens. The main attraction is the world-famous Blarney Stone that gives those who kiss it the gift of eloquence. To kiss the stone, you must bend backwards at a dizzying height.
There are also gardens to explore, including a poison and bog garden, and Rock Close’s “Wishing Steps” and Fairy Glade. Family passes available (two adults and two children). Children under 8 are free.
