While the Bethany Beach Boardwalk does not have any amusement rides or carnival games, visitors will find lots of boardwalk fare like fries, ice cream, salt water taffy, fudge, pizza, hot dogs and crepes. The wooden plank boardwalk is not wide or long, at less than half a mile. Kids and parents will love to stroll, and strollers will not be an issue. Bikes are also allowed on the boardwalk from 6 to 9 a.m. Access to the beach is also available from staircases running the length of the boardwalk.
Bandstand
The summer concert series runs from late May through Labor Day nearly every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with additional concerts sprinkled in each month. A variety of live music is performed at the bandstand, located at the end of Garfield Parkway at the boardwalk. Some of the performances include things like rock, jazz, an 80s tribute, country, Irish Folk music, Motown, Beatles tribute and even opera.
Shows take place at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Check the town website or bulletin board for information on which band is playing when.
Restrictions
Dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk from May 15 through Sept. 30. Skateboards, roller skates, motorcycles and alcohol are also not permitted on the boardwalk.
