The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California, is fun for all ages. Families will see penguins, sea lions, sharks, fish and more throughout 19 habitats and 32 focus exhibits. The aquarium is home to more than 11,000 ocean animals. Kids can interact with the animals through touch tanks, too. The Ocean Science Center is a great stop for educational fun and families can discover and learn about our planet. Films are also available for viewing, like the Turtle Vision 4D movie experience, where audience members learn about the ups and downs of life on land and sea with Sammy the sea turtle.

The aquarium is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Christmas and during the Grand Prix of Long Beach in April. Admission starts from $29 per adult (age 12 and up), $15 per child (between 3 and 11), and $26 for seniors over 62; children under 3 are free.
