Want to see gators in the wild? (Of course you do. You’re in the Everglades.) The Anhinga Trail is a near-surefire place to do it. It’s about a mile long, with boardwalks and sidewalks, and in addition to gators, you’ll see birds (blue herons and more), turtles, snakes, and native plants. Brave it on your own or go with a guide; if possible, visit in the early morning before it gets too hot and the wildlife head for the shade.
