The Amish Village is an authentic replica of a typical town in Amish Country, complete with a traditional home, farm, blacksmith shop, school, market and covered bridge. Visitors learn about the customs of Amish people, including the way they cook (air-powered kitchen appliances), dress (very few outfits) and attend school (curriculum ends at 8th grade). Backroads Bus Tours are also available and quite popular, as they take guests to working farms, where they meet and interact with the Amish.
Opt for a Premium Package Tour, which combines a Backroads Bus Tour with a visit to The Amish Village, and is priced at $26 per adult and $16 per child (12 and under); allot 2.5 hours for the experience. The Amish Village is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Backroads Bus Tours run on the hour, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
