Situated at the southern end of Amelia Island, this peaceful soft-sand beach was founded in 1935 and was once racially segregated. An exhibit chronicling the history is stationed at “Nana,” the local nickname for an enormous 8.5-acre sand dune which is currently overseen by the National Park Service. A portion of the beach is open to driving for those with a permit.
