A visit to this important historical monument, a citadel from the Hispanic-Arabic period, is sure to be rewarding. The superb views of the city and bay and the evocative experience of strolling amongst the peaceful gardens and taking in the architectural details makes it supremely enjoyable. Alcazaba is situated in the city center and next to the incredible Roman Theatre.
A small entry fee is well worth it to take in this beautiful, well-restored fortress palace.
Hours
From April to October the Alcazaba is open from 9 am to 10 pm. November through March, it is open 9am to 6 pm. Sundays after 2pm, entry is free.
Things to Know/Bring
Some climbing and cobbled paths are involved, so it’s important to keep a close eye on young children.

Save your appetite for nearby restaurants, including famous El Pimpi.
Parking
Given that Alcazaba is in the city center, public transportation is probably best.
