This interactive science museum is an absolute blast-off! Most notable here is the space wing, which includes the new Sudekum Planetarium with its 63-foot dome. At the Test Bed Gallery, kids can go through simulated astronaut training. After suiting up in harnesses, they scale a model of the space shuttle wall to make various adjustments to the controls. They can also learn how to walk in zero gravity, which is much harder than it looks! BlueMax offers a three-minute flight for two in a full-motion, “forward-of-the-axis,” total-freedom flight simulator. Not everything here is space oriented, however. At BodyQuest, kids get a peek inside themselves with exhibits that present a day in the life of the human body, while the museum’s seven-level, 75-foot Adventure Tower includes several interactive activities and an observation area that looks out over the city.
