Overview

First opening its doors in 1879, this summer inn offers 21 guestrooms with individual style and antiques in each room. The inn amenities include croquet, tennis, private bathrooms and morning breakfast, but if your kids would “just die” without a TV, this is not the place for them. Best suited for older children who can have their own rooms, some rooms do allow for a third or fourth person/child. The inn is open from mid-April to mid-October.

Columbus Weekend

Beautiful victorian era Inn atop High Street with fantastic ocean views. The staff couldn't be more helpful and very pleasant. The owners are hands on and available throughout the day. The rooms while on the smaller side are very comfortable we had an ocean view which was fantastic. we were a little surprised that the bathroom was lacking necessary toiletries. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner as well as soap. It's quiet and very peaceful as well as romantic. It's a short walk down high street into town, but coming back be prepared to walk up the steep hill. Or cab!!!!

Victorian gem on Block Island

Overall a great hotel to escape the worries of the modern world.
I stayed there 22 years ago and not much has changed. In a good and bad way.
The bathroom needed a total overhaul: slow to get heated water, the fan that started with the light was so loud I had to turn off the lights. Loud ticking wall clock, as well.
Service was cordial and gracious. Food remarkably good.
