I stayed at the Marriot Waterfront Hotel with my husband for a school reunion. In the past, I've stayed at many Marriot Autograph Hotels, but this hotel does not live-up to the luxury of Autograph Hotels. The rooms were clean and roomy, but very dated, wall paper peeling off in bathroom. Also, when returning to my room to retrieve a forgotten item, the maids left the doors open when cleaning, without placing the cart in front of the open doors, plus I saw some of the maids walk down the hall to get something, while leaving the doors wide open.
In addition, my husband and I were given certificates for complimentary breakfasts next door at Pussers - this restaurant was a disgrace - never seen anything so filthy - surprised the health department even allows it to stay open (see attached picture of entrance). I realize Marriot does not own or operate Pussers, but to send customers to such a shoddy restaurant, does not represent Marriot's good standards.
In sum, the location of this Marriot is lovely, close to town, on the water, and the staff is nice, but in my opinion, not worth the money, so I will not return.

We recently stayed at Waterfront Marriott for 5 nights. Had a room with a view to the southwest, not on the harbor. While clean, the room was not at all mluxurious compared to other Marriotts.
Given that this property is one of their “Autograph” hotels, it makes it even more unimpressive.
The restaurant on premises, Pusser’s, is VERY tired. Food is average. With the wonderful view of the harbor, this could be great but currently is not. Clearly in need of a good cleaning and repainting.
As we were on the tail end of a two week vacation, I needed to do laundry. The person on the front desk could not make change for me to use the machines until the manager arrived (?). When I finally accessed the laundry room, there was only 1 top and bottom washer and dryer and no soap dispenser available. Another trip back to front desk desk and they were able to give me some detergent. As I am not blessed with height, trying to retrieve clothes from the dryer on top wasn’t exactly easy. Would it be so hard to have a small stool in the corner?
The location is the best thing about this property but if you want luxury, look elsewhere.
