Long drive, tired passengers, all other hotels filled = room at the AmeriVue. At least we did not get a room in the main building. A bit of basic maintenance would go a long way here. A class in customer service that goes beyond grunts in response to customer queries wouldn't hurt either. Our TV remote was stuck on a channel that played 1950s western movies, arrrgh. The hair dryer holder was precariously 'secured' to the wall without the benefit of drywall screws. I've had worse rooms, well maybe one. Not impressed.

I can strongly recommend never staying at this hotel. I made reservation in May 2019 for a September stay as one night of a 4 night bike trip with friends. In June a member of our group had emergency back surgery and we decided to cancel the trip as he would not be rehabbed by then. I call each of the 4 hotels and cancelled the reservations personally. When reviewing my credit card statement today I realized I was charged for 2 rooms over the past weekend. I called the hotel and the woman who answered said I would get a call back. I called later in the day and was told the manager would be in at 2pm and would call me. I called at 5pm and spoke with a gentleman who said the manager wouldn't be in at all. I told him my situation and asked for a remedy. He called me a liar and said there was no way I cancelled the reservation. He said it's impossible to cancel a reservation over the phone, I explained that I did indeed do so and also did so at my other destinations also with no problem. I haven't located the cancellation # yet, but he claims that you cannot cancel hotel rooms over the phone in the US anymore only via computer. Please note that I did not use a 3rd party booking site like expedia or anything, the reservation were made over the phone. The clerk was rude and said too bad, I was out the $. Do NOT stay here, scam artists.
