When assessing a hotel one of the first thinks I ask myself is would I return and in the case of the Amari Patong the answer is yes definitely.
The hotel is ideally placed just on the outskirts of Patong but within walking distance to the restaurants and bars dotted along the sea front. The hotel is built into a hill and is quite spread out, but we were situated at the bottom of the steps that led to reception. There are a number of steps within the complex. The room had everything we needed. It was serviced twice a day supplies topped up, we didn’t have to ask for anything. I liked the cold towels you received whenever you visited one of the restaurants or bars, it was refreshing. There are plenty of photos about this hotel so I want to write about things not in the photos. When we arrived at 10pm Pierre introduced himself to us he is the Regional VP for area. The next morning Pierre was in the breakfast area asking how things were, even offering to get coffee and it wasn’t a one off gesture. I have never experienced such a hands on approach to the welfare and enjoyment of guests in all my years of travel. From my view point This hotel rates highly for customer care. The staff are friendly and will try and meet your needs they don’t get flustered even with guests who leave their manners at home when they travel. Most mornings we were served at breakfast by Yok and Ice who made our stay a happy one. I would say that a main asset of this hotel is the staff, and that brings me to Nong you will find her in La Gritta restaurant she also looks after the pool area she really went out of her way to look after us making sure our stay was something special.

We stayed for 4 nights, from the moment we arrived, the staff were very friendly and truly helpful. We had the room upgraded to the Ocean Wing which was so beautiful up on the hill overlooking Patong.
Our room was big, clean and very comfortable, especially the bed!, the view from our balcony was of trees and bush, it felt like you were the only people staying there, very relaxing.
We ate breakfast in the clubhouse each morning, the food and service was excellent.
The dinner at the La Gritta, Italian restaurant was delicious, you cant go wrong there. The view was a plus!
The view from the restaurant was overlooking the beach and very peaceful, relaxing outlook.
During our stay, the hotel has given us the complimentary everyday. Cookies, and champagne! Nice little touch means everything.
Every staff member we came across, had a smile and nothing was a trouble, even the cleaners.
It is a very well run hotel and staff look like they enjoy working there.
We will definitely be back. Thanks for your great hospitality. I cant spot one thing wrong here!
