My advice is to read the reviews carefully. Most of the 5* reviews seem to have been left by those staying in private villas, which are no doubt fabulous. Unfortunately the experience of staying in a room was rather different. The room we had was not well thought out. For example, the safe is on the top shelf of the wardrobe, too high for me to reach, and the sink is in the bedroom (the toilet being outdoors). It felt quite dark and cramped, and was showing some signs of wear and tear. The communal areas were really lovely however, as were the staff. Having said that, we were not happy to be woken on two out of three mornings - the hotel should really invest in some Do Not Disturb signs.

My Daughter & Myself stayed at The Amala 16/10. -19/10/2019. Chauffeur picked us up from previous Resort, welcome drinks, just so kind! First Villa was not cool enough for me, lung problems in extreme heat! They moved us to Private Villa, Private Pool to upgrade! Cleaning was wonderful, breakfast brought to Villa which was lovely! Even though the hatch roof could not cool Villa down enough, how could you ask for anything better? I was extremely impressed with their kindness, cleanliness! Then chauffeur driven to Airport for flight home! Very Impressive xxxxx????????????
