Set right on the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa with step-out access to the city’s bustling Riverwalk, this contemporary Aloft property puts you within walking distance of many of downtown Tampa’s main attractions, including restaurants, museums and parks. Many of the rooms have river views, and balconies can be requested, too. There’s a bar-like restaurant with a snack menu onsite, as well as a convenience-style shop for grab-and-go foods. The hotel also has an outdoor roof deck pool and an onsite gym.

If you want to take advantage of the Riverwalk, and everything along it, this is your place. This is walking distance to Straz Center, art Museum, bars, restaurants, and you can walk, jog, bike, scooter, walk your dog along the riverwalk. Its newer, clean, & comfortable, and the staff we interacted with were all very nice and helpful. Seemed to be well managed to us (hiring well).
I really liked our riverside view. Very lively, colorful, and memorable. Well worth paying for that upgrade, but comes with added street noises from below.
I prefer to self-park, but that is not an option here, so you need to add ~$20 parking fee (plus tip) to the cost of your stay. That being said, the valet personnel were A+ (I'm a former valet at a 4star hotel so I should know). We felt our car was very safe in the parking decks below the building.
Front desk staff were very helpful with answering ?'s about the local area.
The free Wifi Internet was easy and flawless. Never turned on the TV. Reading lights above each bed.
Bartender was fine, and stayed a little late for the patrons still sitting at the bar at the 8pm closing time.
Room was cleaned well, and except for a cracked tile in the large beautiful shower stall, the condition was near new. TIP: Bring a nightlight. There's no way to leave a small light on in the bathroom area and when you turn on the light they have, it's too bright, and can disturb your roommate/s.
Its a downtown hotel so expect some street noise. Ambulance sirens blared out 4-5 times during our 1 night stay, and you can hear the cars going over the metal grate drawbridge ( only if you stay on the river side to enjoy the awesome view). If you need a quieter stay, ask for city side view, near top floors, and furthest from the drawbridge.
We didn't eat breakfast there because there are better option nearby. Its only a 6 minute walk across the drawbridge to The Oxford Exchange, but don't drive there because parking is $10 and finding any other spots is nearly impossible.
We will stay here again for sure, but wish the suites were 2 separate rooms.

Modern look, room and public areas were clean and nice, staff was friendly. Bed was comfy.
Good bathroom products but the shower dispenser was clogged for both items making unusable - housekeeping should pay attention.
Beware that pets are allowed and a barking dog until late at night made or stay less than desirable.
Also little details for a new hotel we surprising like no USB ports by the bed and lighting switches were not great.
Location on the river walk and across bridge to university of Tampa is great. May stay again.
