The U.S. Virgin Islands namely comprise St. John, St. Croix and St. Thomas, all of which are popular vacation destinations and cruise ports. Each island offers beautiful beaches, top-notch resorts and outdoor sports. The USVI only offer three all-inclusive resorts, but each of them features a beachfront location, swimming pools, water sports, restaurants and all the necessities needed for a carefree getaway in the Caribbean.
Dreams Sugar Bay Resort
Opened in 2014, Dreams Sugar Bay Resort is situated hillside in St. Thomas. The expansive resort overlooks the beach, where families enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding and more — all included in rates. If you’d rather relax poolside, there are three interconnecting swimming pools with soothing waterfalls and caves. Other outdoor offerings include basketball, beach and pool volleyball, a jogging trail, playground, pool table, Ping Pong, tennis and golf at a course nearby. Kids can enjoy the Explorer’s Club, available to those between ages 3 and 12. It includes sandcastle contests, treasure hunts, music and storytelling. Meanwhile, parents can participate in an aerobics or water aerobics course. Soon, the resort will also offer a Core Zone Teens’ Club, available at most Dreams Resorts.
The hotel features deluxe accommodations, some of which include family suites. The Preferred Family Suite Ocean View includes a separate bedroom with two double beds, a living room and a private balcony. The room sleeps up to two adults and two children or three adults and one child. Guests of these suites also receive Preferred Club privileges, such as private check-in and check-out, a private area on the beach and continental breakfast and snacks served in a private lounge.
Bolongo Bay Beach Resort
Also in St. Thomas, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is an intimate property, with just 64 beachfront rooms, plus a small selection of non-beachfront rooms for those on a budget. Beachfront rooms are situated right on the sand, while Oceanview Rooms are located on the hotel’s second and third floors and have private balconies. Value Rooms are slightly dated, but are still situated near the beach and pool. Most accommodations sleep up to four guests, and all provide refrigerators, coffeemakers and free Wi-Fi.
While it’s not a true all-inclusive property, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort offers an all-inclusive package that covers all meals, served at two onsite restaurants, plus unlimited drinks for parents. All guests enjoy themed events and entertainment and non-motorized water sports, such as paddle boarding, paddle boating, snorkeling and kayaking.
