The Alaska Garden Gate B&B has many different options among its 20 cottages, suites, and rooms but families will want to look at the two-bedroom cottage that can sleep up to five people on two queen beds and a single bunk bed. Each cottage also comes with a spacious living room, fireplace and full kitchen. These beautiful buildings are surrounded by manicured landscaping and feature stunning views of Knik Glacier in the distance. During the summer, the owners serve a hearty buffet breakfast in the Breakfast Hall each morning. Chow down on biscuits and gravy, blueberry pancakes and reindeer sausage, and you won’t need to eat again until dinner.
The B&B is located in a quiet, wooded area 5 miles west of downtown Palmer. There are several restaurants and a major grocery store within a few miles. Kids will love the nearby family-friendly farms. First, they can feed reindeer at the Reindeer Farm, then pet musk oxen at the Musk Ox Farm. You’ll enjoy an easy hike on the Pioneer Falls Trail, with its spectacular waterfall views. Later on, drive into the mountains north of Palmer for a ranger-led hike around the abandoned gold mine in Independence Mine State Historical Park. With its affordable rates and historic vibe, the Pioneer Motel is a family-friendly place to spend part of your Alaskan adventure.

Wife and I stayed 6 nights in one of the cottages. Very nice and quiet. Easy access to Palmer and Wasilla. Each unit has small kitchenette living room and a bedroom along with a bathroom with a shower.

We were one night in the B&B, and it was horrible because of the noise inside the room, coming from compressors in the next room (Kitchen). If you touch the Wall of the room you can feel vibrations coming from these compressors. This problem, in my opinion, is unacceptable for a B&B, and this room is not valid to be rent it.
We complain to the receptionist, and after half an hour we talk with the owner of the B&B, and she explain to me that they know this problem but there is no solution and she proposed us to leave the B&B, or to put relaxing music in the room to sleep (this is not a joke). She looked used to this situation and it seemed funny.
This accommodation was the worse in 2 weeks in Alaska, and we do not strongly recommend this B&B.
