Hidden in the trees on this sprawling wooded property are several buildings with suites ranging from one room to three rooms. A large family will love the beautifully decorated Galena Agate Suite, which contains king, queen and double beds in three bedrooms, along with a large living room and full kitchen. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, onsite laundry, satellite TV, BBQ and continental breakfast. Guests are welcome to roam the property, enjoying the gardens or playing a game of horseshoes. Kids will be thrilled to see the herd of reindeer kept by the owners, and might even get to help feed them.
The Agate Inn is located in a rural neighborhood 4 miles east of downtown Wasilla, so you’ll need a car to get around. There are a variety of shops and restaurants along the busy Parks Highway near your hotel. If you’re using your kitchen, a large grocery store is 2 miles away. Several of Wasilla’s most popular attractions are within five minutes of the Inn, including the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Museum and the Museum of Alaska Transportation. Kids will be excited to visit the Alaska Live Steamers, a 20-acre park where you can ride miniature trains along miles of wooded track. A fun family hike can be found at the Independence Mine State Historical Park, site of a large abandoned gold mine, in the scenic mountains north of Wasilla. With its family-friendly suites and beautiful location, the Agate Inn is a smart choice for your Wasilla vacation.

Everything is well taken care of by the owners! The rooms, the location, access to laundry facilities, kindness shown by the lady who cleaned our room each day, and the friendliness of Sandy and Harvey have always exceeded our expectations!

We rented one of the suites for a night as a stop between Seward and Denali NP. It was nice to spread out after nights in hotel rooms. It was helpful to have the muffins and cereal stocked in our room for a quick breakfast. The owners were very interesting to talk to while my daughters enjoyed feeding their reindeer. We didn't need to use the laundry facilities, but they were located right near the room. Very convenient if needed. Ask for an upper floor if you are very sensitive to noise, but we would definitely recommend staying here and would choose this place again!
