Overview

One of several seasonal family resorts in the Catskills, Acra Manor opens every year on Memorial Day weekend, and welcomes guests through October. Your room rates include two meals daily (buffet breakfast and four-course dinner), the services of a social director and counselors for kids and teens and all amenities on premises. These include three pools — heated outdoor, indoor and kiddie — basketball and tennis courts, climbing wall, playground and a lake with fishing and boating.

Organized activities run the gamut from contests, games and parties to karaoke competitions, paint ball games, horseback riding, miniature golf tournaments and magic shows. The property is close to attractions such as golf, Zoom Flume Water Park, Howe Caverns and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

The newly-renovated, motel-style rooms accommodate up to six people. The rooms have queen size beds, private bathrooms, air conditioning, heat, cable television and Wi-Fi.

If you are just looking to sleep

by Donna A

Maybe in its day it was nice, in fact it looks like it’s from the forties or fifties. We were only looking for a inexpensive place to sleep. Room is out dated with no more extras. Very poorly lit. Bathroom had tiny nat like bugs. I can’t see having a wedding there. No breakfast or coffee. If you are only looking to sleep it might be fine but not spend your anniversary. I would not stay again.

Great people and great place

This is a family owned resort and John and Jim along with their parents go out of there way to accomadate all your needs. I went 2x over this summer and my husband is in a wheelchair. They went out of their way to make sure my husband and I had the best time. Rooms that are accessible, dining to fit his motorized wheelchair and the entertainment part they made sure he was able to participate in all of it. The social director Larry is great and makes each day wonderful. Food is awesome and plentiful.. Already made arrangements to go back. After spending 51 years at a resort ( which closed) John, Jim and Larry made sure we felt welcomed in our new Acra Manor home. One suggestion is would love to see blinds on the windows of the rooms near the pool instead of the curtains. Fun is what you make of it and we had lots of it. Rooms may be a little dated but they are clean and that's part of the experience..who stays in the room anyway except to sleep.
