Who says waffles are just breakfast food? For a Leige-style Belgian waffle and other Belgian fare, head over to Taste of Belgium. These deliciously dense sugar-crusted rustic waffles were once sold at the back of a produce store in Cincinnati’s Findlay Market. After becoming wildly popular, owner Jean-Francois Flechet opened a proper restaurant on Vine Street in Cincinnati’s transformed Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Diners can enjoy chicken and waffles, sweet and savory crepes, crispy frites (French fries) and bakery goods. The intimate space inside isn’t conducive to large strollers, but outdoor seating is available. Taste of Belgium serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, and is open for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays.
