Regarded by many to be one of the best spots in Lincoln, The Engine House Café is a great family-friendly option. Although it’s a little “off-the-beaten path,” this popular local spot is worth a visit, especially for a hearty breakfast. The Café is at the site of the historic Havelock District’s original fire station from 1900. In fact, the wood ceiling that accents the building is the original from 1900. The walls are covered in firehouse and firemen memorabilia, too. Most days, the café is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu is very reasonably priced with almost everything priced below $10, making it an affordable option for families.
