Amazing One Night in Walindi

by fallingstars26

My colleague and I spent 1 night in Walindi for work and celebratory dinner. We initially booked a Plantation house but we were upgraded to Bungalow (Thank you!). The Plantation Resort is situated at the far end of the town. When I entered the resort grounds, I feel like I was transported to a "secret garden". It was full of trees and bushes.

The staff at the reception provided details about the resort. Only the fan, bedside light and bathroom light will be on after 11 pm. I enjoyed my bungalow, it has all the essential things I needed. The bed is comfortable and clean. The housekeeping placed hibiscus and greens in the room which I loved! Insect spray is readily available.

The accommodation fee includes laundry services. The housekeeping staff collected my clothes in the morning and returned it after an hour.

I hope to go back someday and try diving!

Idyllic beach location

This place's reputation precedes it, as it is a famous "dive resort". We weren't there for the diving but that didn't stop us enjoying it. It is set on the coast and our bungalow had good views of the sea. The only problem with its setting is that you have to travel for about an hour through palm oil plantations to get to it. However there are some magnificent volcanoes to enjoy in the distance. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a liberal supply of tea and coffee throughout the day. Our bungalow was a little basic but that didn't matter in the climate there. Our bed was comfortable enough. One good thing is that laundry is included in the cost of staying there. It is set in beautiful grounds, with well tended gardens, which you can enjoy the sunset from. While not diving, we did do a short snorkel and found the staff on the boat to be particularly friendly and helpful.
