Location, location, location as they say !
The location of Hotel Suisse really is a huge bonus. We had a room on the fifth floor which offered spectacular views to wake up to every morning. Room was comfortable with two small armchairs which offered a comfortable spot to relax - chairs on balcony were a little basic.
We tried breakfast at the hotel once but considered it to be very expensive compared to local offerings. We preferred to go to the Old Town and enjoy the sunshine on the terrace of a cafe with locals and a very entertaining waiter ! The breakfast area and bar area in the hotel seemed totally wasted space - it was a shame as much could have been done to improve the use and popularity of these areas.
I was a disappointed and dismayed that when I asked to borrow an umbrella on our last evening - the only rain in our whole stay - I was refused by the staff on reception.
Given that we had stayed there for 8 nights and therefore spent a not inconsiderable sum with them this response felt very mean spirited.
I would return to the hotel because of its location - proximity to waterfront and charming old town. The actual facilities of the hotel would not draw me on their own.
