For anyone with interest in the Vietnam War, this hotel is a must. This is where the American military command released its daily report to the world’s news media from the rooftop bar, an event that became known as the Five O’Clock Follies. The rooftop bar/restaurant remain popular for people of all ages and for families, the signature drink, “Five O’Clock Follies” is available in virgin form.
In addition to three restaurants, tennis and swimming, this hotel offers in-house puppetry theatre and cultural interpretive programs. Boutique shopping is located within the complex. Many of the city’s iconic attractions are within a few blocks here in District 1.

Good location downtown near many tourist attractions such as Saigon City Hall, Saigon Square, Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Central Post Office and Saigon Opera House. Our Executive Premium room in the Executive Wing was very elegant, spacious and comfortable with Executive Lounge privileges (but stairs to lounge difficult for us seniors). Nice ambiance and very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. The Hoa Mai Restaurant is the most elegant we have ever seen. International buffet breakfast in Hoa Mai restaurant very good. Rooftop Garden Bar (on 5th floor, not on rooftop) open air, partially covered, stylish, super ambiance, nice view of downtown, food and drinks, very pleasant live entertainment evenings. Water Puppet and Cultural Show some evenings. Casino. Service car with driver available for half day city tours (ensure driver fluent in English before entering vehicle). Wheelchair availability and assistance much appreciated. Hotel reasonably priced.

This is a shining hotel with all the bells and whistles you would expect from 5 star establishment except a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. This hotel is very sterile and not the least bit welcoming.
The porter who took our bags to our room would not leave until we paid him, he only succeeded in embarrassing himself and the hotel. We where given an room “upgrade” but when we went to use the rooms upgrades we where told that they would not apply to us. Which is fine but it would be good to be advised of this at checkin.
Breakfast was pretty good but if you want to be made feel welcome I would not stay here.
