We just spent 5 nights at Hard Rock Kuta. Highly recommended! All aspects were beyond expectations. We traveled as a group of 8 (2 families: 4 kids aged between 4 and 11yrs old).
POOLS: There is one massive one with heaps of sections, including kid water park which was a massive hit, swim up bar and another section with triple slide and double tube slides (one enclosed, one open). There is also another more private pool with exclusive access depending on what room you book. It’s more relaxed and smaller. Temp was cooler in the smaller pool, and just a tad warm in the big one (but you’re in the tropics so I guess the sun heats it - I can’t believe they’d actually heat the pool)
GYM: Newly renovated and well equipped. 4 treadmills, 2 bikes, weights and machinery all adequate. They have water and chilled towels (extremely necessary). Slightly annoyed that the TV screen plays hard rock TV music channel but the music piped though speakers is something else.
SPA: massage was great. Hot stone was nice but speak up if they are too hot, I almost got burnt. They do point this out so don’t be shy.
FOOD: yes, expensive but how else do you think they make money? Breakfast buffet with lots of choices, Asian and western. We also ate some dinners and room service and can’t fault it. Other than price... they had happy hour 2x1 cocktails from 2-6pm which we took great advantage of!
STAFF: super friendly and attentive. Can’t fault them either. From reception, to room service, housekeeping, spa, dining. All bagus (good)!
LOCATION: Great. Right on the beach, we would walk everywhere. You do get harassed walking down the street or beach if you want to get transport, hair braided, massage, manicures, tattoos, surf lessons, cold drinks, sarongs, etc. We felt safe walking as a family and were never approached for anything dubious, although saying that, my husband went out alone one night to the convenience store (4 doors down) and got offered drugs and hookers in the space of 300m!
ROOM: the bed was amazing. Superb mattress. Aircon worked perfectly. Heavy curtains that blocked out light. They also have wall USB charger for device charging. Rooms were always cleaned impeccably. Very happy.
