Stayed in Grand Hyatt Taipei as usual when back to Taiwan for biz trip. It was busy than expected, so staff was occupied in most of time. Changed my room once due to unknown allergy reaction. The hotel seems be full, but staff still tried his best to find me another one. The replaced room I got is smaller in lower floor, but at least it is available. The only thing I did not like is to see a peace of trash lied down in the floor. Even I believe my allergy is nothing about the cleanness in previous room, but the piece of trash did concern me a bit. Luckily, no more allergy reaction in the new room. Breakfast was still good but service was a bit down due to the crowd. two or three days, no one asked me cafe or tea, or even forgot to bring me one after I asked. it is understandable in rush hour, but still expect to have improvement in the future.

We stayed from 18 Oct to 21 Oct 2019. Hotel is located in a quiet area in Xinyi District. 3 Mins walk to Taipei 101 with sheltered passage way. And very close to 101 train station. Was quite disappointed upon checking into the room to see no bathtub. However realized later that the rain shower is equally good. There are few shopping malls like Shin Kong Mitsukoshi opposite the hotel, 5 mins walk across the road. Room is big in size which is the norm in Asia and the hotel is bustling with people on the weekend. Staff are well trained and very helpful with the requests. There are 2 convenience stores and also a small market place which sells local produces, seafood, meat etc opposite the hotel and approximately 8 mins walk. Quite a fair bit of local eateries along the same street too. On rainy days, hotel do provide umbrellas which comes in handy. Tong Hua night market is a few streets away and 10-15 mins walk by foot. We certainly enjoyed our stayed here as it it not too congested as compared to Xinmengting. The streets are lined with trees and it makes the area very green and airy. Would certainly be back again.
