The appeal of this hotel is the dive center, and for good reason. Anchorage Hotel & Dive Center has received numerous awards, and the owners take great pride in the craftsmanship of their Dominica experience — including arranging incredible tours.
The hotel is located 1 mile south of the capital of Roseau, and offers 31 spacious, air-conditioned, en-suite bedrooms, comfortably furnished with island-style décor, direct dial telephones, high speed internet and cable TV. There are also spa and yacht services.
Room accommodation choices include 19 oceanfront rooms, two of which contain one king sized bed; the remaining 17 rooms contain two double beds each and are able to accommodate up to four people. For large groups, an extra single bed can be placed in the rooms, at an additional cost, to accommodate up to five persons. These rooms are equipped with hot and cold showers, mini-fridge, coffeemakers and iron and ironing boards; all the rooms on the second floor contain private balconies with a spectacular view of the ocean. Poolside rooms typically accommodate only two people.
Onsite there is a Carib Bar & Poolside Lounge with the hotel’s famous “Laro’s Anchorage Rumpunch.’ The Latitude Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Other amenities include parking, laundry services, room service, Sunday breakfast until noon, a Thursday night Seaside BBQ dinner with live entertainment, and weekly exercise classes.

My sister and I stayed here in May, this was our first visit to the island of Dominica and although the hotel is a little dated and the food is not that good (except breakfast which was always really good), the staff are fabulous. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating, the room was clean and the view is spectacular. Dominicans love their island and rightly so. When you visit ask, for Frank Edwards, tour guide extraodinaire. He was amazing and took us to so many places and was always helpful and attentive and full of information, he got us local beverages to sample, pointed out the different fruits and vegetation - Frank goes above and beyond every time.
