Overview

The antithesis of the luxe overwater bungalow resort, this family pension with just five bungalows appeals to intrepid families who don’t need all the bells and whistles of an international resort. And while there’s no air conditioning and the wireless network can be spotty on the island, you will find a crystal-clear lagoon for snorkeling and an onsite restaurant where the kids’ meals are 50-percent off.

Plenty of reviews have described the resort and yes its "rustic", "quaint" but so laid back in a wonderful location with staff who are very accommodating and do what they can to make the stay as good as possible. Marie, Jimmie and of course Ellie all do the cooking and good home cooking it is. Spent several evenings hanging over the counter talking and drinking as they prepared the meal. Everyone eating together at one table breaks the ice too. Nothing wrong with a mosquito net - they work but we did bring our own mosquito spray and coils (been in similar places before) and no problems with errant flying insects. The best snorkelling on the doorstep where other commercial snorkelling operations bring their tours. 5 minutes from the airport if Jimmie puts his foot down so no difficulty connecting to the main shuttle. Only suggestion would be a small fridge in the unit. Thanks Jimmie, Marie and Ellie we'd like to come back.

The most unique place to stay on Bora Bora. It’s like having your own private island in paradise. The coral gardens are natural and you can see a array of colorful fish. You don’t even need to snorkel to see them as they come right up to the dock. We visited in November of 2018, and we had a wonderful time.
We enjoyed eating dinner every night and the Shabbat dinner was an extra special experience.
The bungalows are comfortable and clean.
If you are looking for a unique experience, this is the place for you. The color of the water here is the most beautiful on the island.
You get picked up in a boat from the airport, which is a fun way to ride in.
Eli is entertaining. He and Jimmy will see to it your every need is met. They are both exceptionally talented cooks.
Eli will help you plan excursions. I highly recommend swimming with the sharks and stingrays.
At Blue Heaven Island, there were paddle boards, kayak boats, snorkeling gear, and many other complimentary entertainment such as beer pong using rum bottles.
Polynesian art abounds as well as art created by visitors. It is really a fantastic place.
My husband and I loved our time in Bora Bora and we recommended Blue Heaven Island.
