Santorini has become popular Greek island over last few years especially for cruise liners. We chose to come here towards the end of season in fact I understand it was closing at end if October. As a result we found the hotel quiet apart from the obligatory Chinese and a few Americans. However it did enable us to have a very relaxed, peaceful week break. The hotel cannot be faulted although it is not 5* for me at best 4*. The hotel is modern and clean and has magnificent views of both sides of the island especially where the ships come in. Breakfast was acceptable although standard and little alternatives each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had one meal at night in the restaurant, we were the only ones there but food not too expensive. As the hotel is a distance away from Fira a suggestion is to offer transport into town at set times in the day. Although the distance into town was not far, for older people in the heat and on the road was restricting. Taxi cost was 7 euro. Room was clean but we did experience mosquitos and the bathroom not high quality. Overall I would recommend the hotel and come again

We stayed at the Majestic Hotel as a family a few weeks ago. The property is located about a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Fira. There are no amenities in the immediate vicinity. There is one supermarket about 400 meters from the hotel and another about 800 meters. The hotel itself is splendid as is the reception service. The ladies on reception are extremely helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. The property is very clean and well kept. The selection at breakfast was great- eggs, beans, grilled veggies, salads, dry and fresh fruits, pastries, breads and cereals. We ordered room service on a number of days- again the selection is not vast but adequate. Everything we ordered tasted great esp the Greek salad! Please note that if you are gluten free, the options available are limited. The co-ordination at breakfast was always a slight issue- we were a family of 5 and often had to squeeze onto a small table as the larger tables were taken by either an individual or a couple. There was never enough or adequate cutlery available and the breakfast staff were nonchalant. The hotel has a hot and cold pool along with a small spa which has both a sauna and steam room. They offered all ladies a complimentary mini facial which was pleasant. Overall a pleasing stay in Santorini!
