I booked this villa directly, for a trip next March, after staying there 2 years ago and thinking it was fantastic. After paying for our stay, the villa then emailed me saying they were closed for renovations but they would refund my money. Since then, I have tried unsuccessfully to contract them. So I'm completely out of pocket and they're not answering their phone or replying to emails.

We booked a 1 bedroom villa in July in Villa Alam Warna. The only positive thing I could say of this place is the good location. It is close to Seminyak Square, restaurants, shops and beach. And should also be mentioned, the day-to-day staff who cleaned the villa's were very friendly and helpful .... but that's all basically.
Furthermore it is a very bad maintained property. The kitchen utensils were dirty and rusted, the refrigerator was, dirty, used and also rusted, the sun-bed mattresses were old, dirty and torn, the jacuzzi did not work and the water inside was very dirty, pooldeck shelves were cracked and plaster felt from the walls.
Then we were unhappily surprised by a big rat running from the kitchen area. They came back a couple of times, their droppings were all over the place. After some days we found out a rat-family has nestled behind the kitchen sink. They entered the villa from the garden through a rainwater drain which should be have been covered by a filter, but the filter was basically non existent as it was completely lost by rust.
We finally found out that the property for some time was on the market for sale and the owner didn't want to invest in maintenance for some time. Permanent staff were let go and now the place is run by friendly well-willing day workers but I question if they have the right qualifications to keep the property save and clean despite being very friendly and do their upmost to make you feel at home.
All in all, it could have been a wonderful place for our holidays but the state of the property has been a huge disappointment, hopefully once there is a new owner he/she will bring back this property to a state it deserves.
