This hotel is in the perfect place to take a family that loves the outdoors. The Cathedral Caverns offers daily tours of its expansive cave system, and younger visitors love the gem mining. Outdoor loving families can head to Lake Guntersville State Park to hike, mountain bike, zipline, fishing, and boating. This park is also the prime Bald Eagle country in the state. The Unclaimed Baggage Center is a unique store that buys and sells unclaimed airline baggage, and it’s a surprise what you’ll find. At the hotel, guests can enjoy a free breakfast and an indoor pool. Guestrooms can accommodate four guests with two included queen beds.

Pros: check-in quick and efficient. My room (321) was good sized and well laid out. Room was clean and nothing was amiss. Hot water nice and hot. Location OK. Wifi was fast when it worked.

Cons: they allow pets. Walls are thin. Elevator was a little slow. There is only one staircase, at the far end of the building. Finding the access road off of 72 at night is not easy - the motel is not off of Hwy 72 but rather off Snodgrass Rd., a 1/4 mile west of the motel.

The wifi system is an older system that requires you to sign in if you’re off for more than a few hours. It is clunky and takes a long time to give you the login prompt. In the morning, the lag was so long I thought that the system had crashed and I had to use my Verizon Jetpack.

Good location

Loved the unique look of the hotel. Everything was fine with the hotel just not anything fabulous. Convenient to highway. Would definitely stay again it I was in the area. Very friendly staff! The free breakfast was good.
