We always stay at Holiday Inn Express and normally have a wonderful stay. To be fair, we also stayed in one back in Wichita Falls, Texas the night before and after this review and email to their general manager, I’ll also review the other the same.
Pros, staff in the hotel for the most part were friendly. The beds were super comfortable. Check in was quick and easy..
Cons, breakfast starts at 7am? Most people are up and wanting to travel early. A benefit of booking with small children is to have the option to feed them before leaving. We were not able to do so today.
Cleanliness- you can tell the hotel is worn. Even though that is a nit picky thing to bring up, to make up for it being worn, you would think the things that could be kept clean, would. We entered the hotel around 845pm, were greeted and shown the elevators. We followed a trail of what appeared to be heavy dirt (that someone’s shoes left) to the elevators. That same trail... there at 0630am when we left. Our hotel room had visible areas of not being cleaned. Room 307, the bathroom walls, mildew. The back of the door had things on it as well as varying pieces of furniture. If we hadn’t drove for 12hours I would have asked for a switch. The check out process.. non existent. IF when we checked in we were told no one would be present, that’s one thing. However I stood at the desk with my toddler for over 5 minutes (please check the cameras) with the room keys and no one showed up. The breakfast attendee saw me, but offered no help. I used a sticky note to write when we left. And left the hotel keys on the desk and walked out. The whole experience just feel very subpar and not like IHG. We choose these hotels for safety, comfort and the familiar amenities and this time around it fell way short.

The hotel staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The lobby is clean. The rooms are too, with comfortable beds. The free breakfast is good, too. One of the best hotels in the area! I would definitely stay here again!
