We stayed here for a week in an "RCI" unit I booked through Heroes Vacation Club. The location is great...right on the lake. The whole place looks recently remodeled and is beautiful in sort of a minimal Scandinavian style. Our room was large and very clean, with a nice deck but mostly looked over the parking lot with a slight lake view. I asked the front desk if we could have a better view room but they were unable to accommodate the request because they said we had an RCI room and they were also full.
The bathroom was nice but definitely more stylish than functional. There's no door to close on the shower, just a glass panel that's 2/3 of the way enclosing it. Water goes out the open part onto the floor. The rainfall showerhead is also not great for showering without getting your hair wet. Fairly low water pressure and very soft water made for longer showers. The sink is pedestal style with a waterfall faucet but there's a narrow shelf above it for toiletries. The exhaust fan did almost nothing to take the steam out during a shower.
The bed was comfortable with quality linens. 2 extra towels were provided for hot tub/gym use. We thought housekeeping had forgotten us twice but it turns out they only come every other day for the RCI rooms. The front desk person never mentioned this at check-in or until day 5 when my bf was once again at the front desk to exchange a pile of wet towels.
Beautiful grounds with a beach, docks, fire pit and large hot tub as well. Breakfast is in a small room next to the lobby and is better than most continental. Huge, gourmet muffins, great coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage and the other standards.
Our only real complaint, and it's minor, is about the front desk person who was there most of the time in the evenings. He seemed pretty smug and indifferent to anything we asked. I stopped in to look at their restaurant list and he proceeded to tell me it was wrong and out of date. He came to close up the hot tub one night and complained that he needed gloves because it was cold and asked us to help cover it. He never told us that housekeeping comes every other day for RCI rooms. This guy obviously doesn't like or appreciate his job and could not care less about hospitality. It wasn't anything major, just an attitude.
We had an extremely good rate through HVC so it was definitely worth it, but not sure I would say the same if I were paying full-price rack rates during summer.

We stayed at Center Harbor Inn for only one night during a nine day northeast road trip. I wished we could have stayed longer. It is always a gamble when booking in new areas but it was a very pleasant surprise. The Inn, the grounds, and the room were all great! Everything was easy accessible, the hot tub, the fire pit, the beach. We enjoyed them all for the few hours we were there.
